Religious and Historic Sites to Visit Around Madinah During Hajj (Part 1)

Hajj is one of a kind of experience in itself, but this journey remains incomplete if a pilgrim fails to visit religious and historic places in Madinah. The holy city has numerous historical sites, which have a great significance in the history of Islam and most of all they are open for ziarah. Each year thousands of pilgrims gets the honour to visit these sites. Visit to these sites will further boost your faith in Almighty Allah, his book Al Quran and last messenger Muhammad (SAW).

British Hajj Travel Ltd knows that Hajj is the best opportunity for pilgrims to visit these religious sites around Madinah. Thus, they should know which sites they must visit during this trip. To make this task easier, British Hajj Travel has compiled a list of some great religious and historic places around Madinah below, which one should never miss.

• Masjid Quba
• Jabal Uhad
• Jannatul Baqi

1. Masjid Quba

Masjid is an important historical site in Saudi Arabia because it is the oldest mosque of Muslims in the country. Its foundation was led by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) himself, when he came to Madinah after migration. His (Peace Be Upon Him) sahabas later raised the structure of mosque and then, completed it. Offering two rakat namaz in this mosque is equal to one Umrah, as the Prophet (s.a.w) said, “He who purifies himself at his home and comes to Masjid Quba & offers two rakats therein, will be rewarded the reward of an Umrah (lesser pilgrimage).”

Pilgrims will also find some great date plantation near Masjid Quba from where they can buy the most delicious Ajwa dates along with sweets and chocolates. You will find a vast variety of dates in the farm. The best thing about the farm is that visitors are allowed to taste or eat the variety of dates without any charge. So eat as many as you can and buy the one which you believe are more scrumptious. Our Prophet’s (PBUH) favouriet date was Ajwa. He (SAW) said, “He who eats seven Ajwa dates every morning, will not be affected by poison or magic on the day he eats them.” (Sahih Bukhari: Vol 7, Book 65, Number 356).
