Umrah Pilgrims Visiting Historic and Holy Sites in Madinah in Large Numbers

Since Saudi Arabian government has once again opened Umrah visas for all the Muslims across the world, thousands of pilgrims have flown to the holy land to perform the minor pilgrimage. Sharing his thoughts a Pakistani pilgrim, Gamar Nawaz said that he ensured that he would visit all the historical sites and mosques in Madinah. According to him, Madinah has a special place in the hearts of all the Muslims, no matter where they are from. 

Wasel Husni, another pilgrim said that he has performed Umrah quite a few times. He said that every time he comes to Madinah it’s a priority for him to visit mosques like Al-Qiblatain, Shuhada, Quba along with other historical places of the city. Husni said that these sites are not only heritage of Islam, but are also affluence of all Muslims. Therefore, during each trip he spends a long time in the holy city says Husni. 

Wasel also said that it gives him great joy and pleasure whenever he comes to Madinah near Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) who is greatest of all human beings. He said that he often gets overwhelmed with the happiness that drifts and roams in the holy city, including the Al-Rumat Mountain of Uhud, where one of the most important battles of Islamic history was fought. 

Besides visiting the historic and holy sites in Madinah, it is observed that Umrah pilgrims are also going to public parks and shopping areas. As a result, the sales of the local shops have seen a major increase, whereas hotels are also 95 percent booked, says the workers of the hospitality sector.
