Why Muslims Should Perform Haj in Early Age

Haj is the largest gathering of Muslims in the world that takes place in Saudi Arabia every year. During this holy pilgrimage Muslims gathers to perform the sunnah of Hazrat Ibraham (A.S), sacrificing of an animal on Eid-Ul-Adha, along with the tawaaf of Kabah by wearing an unstitched white garment called ahram. This holy ritual gives Muslims an opportunity for change, forgiveness, paradise and turning towards the creator of all, Allah SubhanaWaTa'ala. Therefore, Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) has said that all Muslims must perform Haj once in their lifetime, if they have the strength and wealth to do it. Wealth may not be an issue for many Muslims, but good health and youth are two things without which it gets really tough for a person to perform Haj.

As a result of that most of the scholars often say that Muslims should make an effort to perform Haj in their youth because besides being a spiritual and emotional journey, holy pilgrimage is also test their physical fitness. Therefore, young Muslims should give preference to Haj over vacation, marriage or travel. Below British Haj Travel has listed few reasons which further explain why Haj should be performed in the young age.

Opportunityto Perform Haj May Not Come Again

Performing Haj is a dream of every Muslim, so when they get a chance to take the holy journey, most of them never miss the opportunity because they believe that the door of opportunity may not open again as life is too short and one do not even know what may happen in the next hour. Ibn `Umar, said, "When evening comes, do not expect (to live till) morning, and when morning comes, do not expect (to live till) evening. Take from your health (a preparation) for your illness and from your life for your death." (Bukhari).

No One Knows What Can Obstruct Them

It is written in IbnMajah, Ahmadthat "Expedite the performance of Hajj. For nobody knows what may obstruct one." Allah has said that, “Any of My slaves who is healthy and are of the means for five years, and did not visit My house, he is mahroom." (IbnHibban&Musnad Abu Ya'laa: 3703:1031)

Utilize Youth to Perform Haj

"There are two blessings which many people do not make the most of and thus lose out: good health and free time." (Bukhari) therefore, one must utilize his or her youth to perform Haj, as good health is a blessing of Allah and it does not last forever. More importantly, since Haj is a physical experience therefore even young people sometimes find it tough to perform the holy ritual. So if you get a chance to take the holy journey in young age then, consider it a blessing of God and grab it with both hands.

Experience of Haj in Young Age

Experience of performing Haj in young age is completely different from the old age, as it gives you a precious feeling and also has a strong impression on the rest of your life. In fact, one of the greatest lessons that one can learn from Haj at an early age is that all human beings are equal. Just the way Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said, "All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor a non-Arab any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black any superiority over a white, except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood."
